Frequently Asked Questions
1. Do I need a referral to book an appointment?
No. You do not need a referral to see our chiropractors, remedial massage therapists or naturopath. You can book directly with our clinic at a time that suits you. If your condition requires referral to another healthcare provider, we will discuss this with you.
2. Will I receive treatment during my first chiropractic appointment?
In most cases, yes. After completing a thorough history and physical examination, your chiropractor will determine whether it is safe and appropriate to begin treatment during your first visit. If further investigation is required, we will explain the next steps before proceeding.
3. Do I need an X-ray or MRI before my appointment?
Not usually. We begin with a comprehensive clinical assessment and only recommend imaging when it is clinically indicated. If necessary, we can provide a referral to your GP to arrange appropriate imaging before treatment continues.
4. Can I claim my appointment through private health insurance?
If your health fund includes extras cover for chiropractic, remedial massage or naturopathy (where applicable), you may be able to claim on the day using HICAPS. We recommend checking your level of cover directly with your health fund beforehand.
5. How do I know which service is right for me?
If you’re unsure whether chiropractic, remedial massage or naturopathy is the most appropriate option, our team can help guide you. Simply contact the clinic and we’ll discuss your concerns before recommending the most suitable appointment.
6. What should I wear to my appointment?
Please wear comfortable clothing that allows you to move freely. Activewear, shorts and a t-shirt are ideal for chiropractic appointments, as they allow your practitioner to assess movement, posture and function comfortably.
