Our Approach
Combining Chiropractic Care with Active Rehabilitation
Many of our active patients tell us they appreciate an approach that combines manual therapy with rehabilitation.
Sports injuries often involve more than one structure. Alongside restoring joint mobility, it’s important to improve movement patterns, strength and function to help support recovery and reduce the likelihood of recurring issues.
Drawing on Jean-Luc’s background in sports science and strength and conditioning, our approach considers the entire kinetic chain—not just the area where symptoms are felt.
Whether your concern involves your shoulder, elbow, knee, ankle or spine, your care is tailored to your individual presentation, activity level and goals.

Treatment Options
Every treatment plan is individualised and may include one or more of the following techniques, depending on your assessment findings.
Extremity Adjustments
Chiropractic adjustments may be used to improve joint mobility and movement in the shoulders, elbows, wrists, hips, knees, ankles and feet where clinically appropriate.
Dry Needling
Dry needling may be incorporated to assist with muscle tension and myofascial trigger points as part of an overall management plan.
Instrument-Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilisation (IASTM)
IASTM techniques may be used to address soft tissue restrictions and support movement where appropriate.
Cupping Therapy
Cupping may be incorporated to assist with soft tissue mobility and muscular tightness as part of your treatment plan.
Sports Taping
Rigid or kinesiology taping may be used to provide additional support during activity and assist with movement confidence while recovering from injury.
Rehabilitation & Strength Conditioning
Individualised rehabilitation exercises are prescribed to improve strength, mobility, stability and movement control based on your sport, occupation or lifestyle.
Collaborative Sports Recovery
Recovery often benefits from a multidisciplinary approach.
Where appropriate, your chiropractor may work alongside our remedial and sports massage therapists to support soft tissue recovery and movement.
If broader lifestyle or nutritional factors may be contributing to your recovery goals, collaboration with our in-house naturopath may also be recommended as part of your overall care plan.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to stop training or working while I recover?
Not always. Where appropriate, we’ll discuss ways to modify your training, workload or activities so you can remain as active as possible while supporting your recovery. The recommendations we provide will depend on your injury, occupation and individual circumstances.
Does dry needling or IASTM hurt?
Some people experience temporary discomfort during these techniques, while others find them quite tolerable.
Your chiropractor will explain the procedure beforehand, monitor your comfort throughout treatment and adjust the technique as needed.
Will I receive treatment during my first appointment?
In many cases, yes.
Following your assessment, if it is clinically appropriate and safe to do so, treatment may begin during your initial consultation. If further investigation is required before treatment, we’ll explain the reasons and discuss your next steps.
How is a sports chiropractic appointment different from a standard chiropractic consultation?
Sports chiropractic appointments often involve a broader assessment of movement, strength and functional performance.
Depending on your needs, treatment may include chiropractic adjustments, soft tissue techniques, rehabilitation exercises and advice tailored to your sport, workplace or activity level.
