When "Pushing Through" Stops Working
Many men spend years prioritising work, family and responsibilities while putting their own health on the back burner. Long workdays, FIFO rosters, lack of sleep, chronic stress and poor recovery can gradually take their toll, leaving you feeling flat, gaining weight or noticing changes in motivation and performance.
Often, the advice is generic: eat less, exercise more, and take this medication.
At Oceanside Chiropractic, we take a practical, evidence-informed approach to men’s health. Rather than offering one-size-fits-all advice, we work to understand your health history, lifestyle, nutrition, stress levels and any relevant testing to identify the factors influencing your symptoms. From there, we create a personalised treatment plan designed to support your energy, metabolism, recovery and long-term wellbeing.
Areas We Commonly Support

Energy, Stress & Motivation
Feeling constantly exhausted, lacking motivation or struggling to recover can often be influenced by multiple factors, including chronic stress, poor sleep, nutritional deficiencies and lifestyle demands.
Our approach focuses on identifying the contributors to low energy and supporting your nervous system through personalised nutrition, herbal medicine, targeted supplementation where appropriate, and practical lifestyle strategies to help improve energy, resilience and overall wellbeing.
Weight Management & Metabolic Health
If you’re exercising regularly but still finding it difficult to lose weight, there may be underlying factors affecting your metabolism.
Stress, sleep quality, insulin resistance, dietary habits, hormone balance and overall metabolic health can all influence body composition. Our personalised weight management programs focus on supporting healthy metabolism through realistic nutrition advice, lifestyle strategies and evidence-informed supplementation where appropriate.
Cardiovascular Health & Cholesterol
High cholesterol and other cardiovascular risk factors are influenced by genetics, nutrition, physical activity, stress and overall lifestyle.
Our naturopath works alongside your GP to support cardiovascular health through personalised nutrition, lifestyle medicine and practitioner-only supplements where appropriate. Where blood test results indicate further investigation is required, we’ll work collaboratively with your healthcare team to help optimise your long-term health.
Testosterone, Low Libido & Sexual Health
Changes in libido, sexual performance or energy are not always simply part of ageing. They can be influenced by stress, cardiovascular health, sleep quality, hormone balance, nutrition and overall wellbeing.
Where appropriate, we investigate the factors contributing to your symptoms and provide personalised support through nutrition, lifestyle medicine, herbal medicine and targeted supplementation to help optimise your overall health.
Health Assessments & Functional Testing
We don’t believe in guessing when it comes to your health.
Following a comprehensive consultation, we may recommend pathology investigations where clinically appropriate to better understand your health. We provide detailed referral letters for your GP, allowing any recommended blood tests to be arranged through Medicare where eligible.
Depending on your individual circumstances, investigations may include:
- Lipid and cardiovascular markers
- Testosterone and hormone profiles
- Liver and kidney function
- Blood glucose and insulin markers
- Inflammatory markers
- Nutritional deficiencies
Once your results are available, we’ll explain what they mean in plain English and use them to guide your personalised treatment plan.

Frequently Asked Questions
I work FIFO. Can I realistically follow a health plan?
Absolutely. We understand the challenges that FIFO work creates when it comes to nutrition, sleep, exercise and maintaining routine. Our goal is to develop practical, sustainable recommendations that fit within your roster and work environment, rather than expecting perfection.
I'm not sure if I need a full consultation. Can I ask a few questions first?
Yes. We offer a free 15-minute Clarity Call with our naturopath, Lauren. This no-obligation conversation gives you the opportunity to discuss your concerns, health goals and whether our approach is the right fit before committing to a full consultation.
Should I have blood tests before my first appointment?
No. Attend your initial consultation first. We’ll take a detailed clinical history and review any previous blood tests or investigations you’ve already had. If further pathology is appropriate, we’ll provide a referral letter for your GP outlining the tests we recommend.
Can natural medicine help support cholesterol and blood pressure?
Nutrition, lifestyle medicine and evidence-informed supplementation can play an important role in supporting cardiovascular health. If you’re already taking medication for cholesterol or blood pressure, we work collaboratively alongside your GP to ensure any recommendations are appropriate and do not interfere with your current treatment.
