The "Normal" Trap in Women's Health
Too many women are told that painful periods, severe PMS, fatigue, mood changes and hormonal symptoms are simply something they need to live with—that they’re “just part of being a woman”. While these experiences are common, they should never be dismissed.
At Oceanside Chiropractic, we take your symptoms seriously. Rather than relying solely on standard pathology reference ranges, our clinical naturopathy team investigates the underlying factors that may be contributing to hormone imbalances, including gut microbiome health, stress, inflammation, nutritional status and impaired detoxification pathways. Our goal is to help you better understand your body while providing practical, evidence-informed support through a personalised treatment plan designed to improve your overall health and wellbeing.

Women's Health Concerns We Commonly Support
We provide personalised, investigative care throughout every stage of a woman’s reproductive health journey.
Hormone Balance: PMS, PMDD & PCOS
Severe mood changes, hormonal acne, painful cramps and irregular menstrual cycles can all be signs of underlying hormonal imbalance. Factors such as oestrogen imbalance, insulin resistance, chronic stress and gut health may all play a role. Where clinically appropriate, we may recommend functional hormone testing, including saliva or dried urine testing, to better understand your hormone patterns and guide an individualised treatment plan using herbal medicine, nutrition and lifestyle support.
Endometriosis & Adenomyosis
Endometriosis and adenomyosis are complex inflammatory conditions that often affect far more than the reproductive system. Our approach focuses on supporting the body through evidence-informed nutrition, practitioner-only supplements, herbal medicine and lifestyle strategies designed to help manage inflammation, support healthy hormone metabolism and improve overall wellbeing. We also work collaboratively to help manage the musculoskeletal pain that often accompanies these conditions.
Fertility, Pre-Conception & IVF Support
Whether you're planning to conceive naturally or preparing for IVF, optimising your health before pregnancy can make an important difference. We support women through personalised nutrition, herbal medicine where appropriate, lifestyle guidance and targeted supplementation to help prepare the body for conception. We also recognise that fertility is a shared journey. Male reproductive health, including sperm quality and overall wellbeing, plays an equally important role. Where appropriate, we encourage partners to seek assessment and support to help optimise fertility outcomes together.
Perimenopause & Menopause
The transition through your 40s and 50s can bring significant physical and emotional changes, including hot flushes, sleep disturbances, brain fog, weight changes and fluctuating energy levels. As hormone production naturally changes, we provide personalised support through herbal medicine, nutrition and lifestyle strategies to help manage symptoms, support nervous system health and promote long-term wellbeing throughout the menopausal transition.

Frequently Asked Questions
I'm not sure if naturopathy is right for me. Can we chat first?
Absolutely. We offer a free 15-minute Clarity Call with our naturopath, Lauren, either in clinic or online. This no-obligation conversation gives you the opportunity to discuss your health concerns, what you’ve tried previously, and whether our approach is the right fit for your individual goals before committing to a full consultation.
Do you work alongside my GP or IVF clinic?
Yes. We believe the best outcomes often come from collaborative healthcare. We regularly work alongside GPs, specialists, fertility clinics and other allied health professionals to help ensure your care is coordinated and well supported. Where appropriate, we can provide clinical summaries or recommendations for further discussion with your healthcare team and arrange referrals for pathology testing through your GP.
How long does it take to balance hormones naturally?
Hormonal changes don’t happen overnight. Because hormones operate on natural monthly cycles, meaningful improvements often take time. While every person is different, we generally recommend committing to your personalised treatment plan for at least three months to allow your body time to respond and adapt. Many patients notice gradual improvements during this period, depending on their individual circumstances.
Can I just buy a hormone supplement off the shelf?
Not necessarily. Hormonal symptoms can have many different underlying causes, so a generic supplement may not address your individual needs and, in some cases, may not be appropriate. We recommend a personalised assessment before prescribing practitioner-only supplements or herbal medicine, ensuring recommendations are tailored to your health history, symptoms and, where appropriate, your test results.
